Edition No. 01 Summer features a composed collection of natural wax candles in varied scales and proportions. Released as a limited seasonal edition, each form has been considered to interact with light differently, creating subtle shifts in presence as they burn.
The Edition includes four taper candles, one LLIOR Signature Candle, two formed pillar candles, and one LLIOR matchbox. The taper candles are exclusive to the Edition. All candles are made from a 50/50 blend of beeswax and soy wax. Cotton wicks. Paraffin-free. Unscented. Free from added fragrance.

A choice in material
Many candles are made from paraffin, a material derived from crude oil. LLIOR does not use paraffin.

Yes. There is no added fragrance in a LLIOR candle. We work with light and material, and leave the scent of a room to the room.
Paraffin is derived from crude oil. Beeswax comes from the hive and soy from the field. We chose the materials we can name and trace. They also melt at a higher temperature, which is why a LLIOR candle lasts longer than a paraffin candle of the same size.
LLIOR carries no added fragrance, so the materials that make up Fragrance Mix I and II, the standard patch test for fragrance allergy, are not present. Fragrance contact allergy is not rare: 3.5 percent of the general population tests positive to Fragrance Mix I, rising to 12.7 percent among people already being seen for contact dermatitis.
We do not call our candles hypoallergenic and we never will. Beeswax is itself a documented contact allergen for a small number of people. An unscented candle removes one source. It does not remove every source.
No. Phthalates are used in scented products to carry and hold fragrance. There is no fragrance in a LLIOR candle, so there is nothing for them to carry. Beeswax, soy and cotton do not contain them.

A LLIOR candle contains no added fragrance and no essential oil. Beyond that, treat it as you would any open flame: out of reach, on a stable heat resistant surface, burnt within sight, and never left alone in a room.
